Executive Biographies
Michael Barker
CEO / President
With more
than twenty (20) years experience in the telecommunications
industry, Michael started as tech for Burnup & Sims Co in
1985. There he steadily moved up to Senior Project Manager.
As a Project Manager he handled large National rollouts for
companies like IBM, Dean Witter and Burger King. He also managed
some very large high profile installations like, Exxon USA
Houston, TX, and American Airlines at DFW Airport. After completion
of these projects he was able to keep them on as a long-term
service contracts. In 1990, Mike started as a Senior PM at
Data Comm Integrated Services in Carrollton, TX. There he
helped to improve customer relations, service, and profits.
In 1994 Mr. Barker started Data Tex Services, with the primary
goal was to make customer satisfaction number 1 priority.
Over the years Michael as put together an organization of
services under one roof to better server its customers in
the ever so changing world of technology. His unique ability
to focus on customer requirements enabled him to develop valuable,
lasting relationship with his customers. Mike's philosophy
solely revolves around providing the highest quality in customer
service.
Brian Barnett
Vice President
Brian Barnett brings over 10 years of experience in the
areas data networking, project management and personnel management.
Prior to joining DataTex Services, Mr. Barnett served in his
previous role as Vice President of Information Technology
for a Fortune 500 company. Mr. Barnett's experience in network
architecture, project planning, budgeting, personnel management
and sales are just a few of the attributes that qualify him
as the perfect leader for the DTS Technology Solutions team.
Prior to serving as VP of IT, Mr. Barnett founded and operated
a successful IT consulting firm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area
doing business as Layer 3 Networks. During that time, Mr.
Barnett achieved industry certifications from partners such
as Cisco, Microsoft, and 3Com. Mr. Barnett's philosophy is
about creating partnerships; "Creating partnerships with
our clients, as well as with our vendors, is one of the keys
to our success. The goal is always to foster a mutually beneficial
lasting relationship. A relationship where there is no question
that DTS will provide the highest level of expertise at the
most market competitive rate."
Joe Owens
Vice President, Infrastructure Services
Prior to entering the field of communication, Joe owned both an
electrical and an automotive repair business. He was also the operations
manager for a large sign company, overseeing over 30 people, doing all the
various jobs necessary to run the company. This gave him the background to
be able to excel in each area he worked in at Data Tex Services. He quickly
learned each job and rose through the ranks to ultimately become the VP of
Infrastructure Services and vested employee in Data Tex Services. Knowing
every aspect of each job and department allows him to oversee all aspects of
daily operations with a working knowledge of what is needed for smooth and
efficient customer satisfaction.
The different
areas in which Joe has worked include field technician, lead
technician, Project manager and Service manager. As a lead
technician and Project manager his projects included Geico,
SkyTel, Sprint, IBM, Carter Burgess, Exxon/Mobil, RTKL, Grant
Thornton, XO Communication and Charter Communications to name
a few. Joe has ongoing working relationships with the staff
at each company and is in touch with the customers on a regular
basis. During each job he works closely with the customer
to maintain the high standards they have come to except from
Data Tex Services.
